“AVEC” GALLERY

“AVEC” gallery – is one of the most famous programs of Kharkov city charitable fund “AVEC”. It’s directed to contribution to intellectual development of Kharkov citizens, make them acquainted with cultures of different nations, representatives of which live in our country, bring up the younger generation t to be tolerant and mutual understanding, support and promotion of fine arts of Slobozhanshina.

The gallery of visual arts, which may be visited free of charge by everyone who wishes, has been established in the central office of “Concern AVEC and Co” JSC in the frame of this program. Citizens and guest of Kharkov visited this gallery for the first time in June 2000. About 80 fascinating and diversified exhibitions of recognized master hands of genre and talented debutants, which were visited by not less than 700 000 people, had taken place under glass roof of the atrium since then.

Today “AVEC” gallery has become popular among people of art as well as among all citizens of Kharkov and become the leading private exhibition area of the city. The following factors contribute to success of gallery: original atrium, equipped under European standards of gallery exposure, elaborated selection of authors, bright and interest presentations of exhibitions, colorful catalogues and booklets, issued especially for each exhibition. Excursions for school children, cultural and creative arrangements are organized and joint international creative projects are implemented.

The main reason of activity of “AVEC” gallery is to support and promote fine arts of Slobozhanshina. Works of the best artists of Kharkov were presented in this gallery more than once. “AVEC” gallery presented project named “Artists of Slobozhanshina” in Kiev in 2003, having shown a rich landscape of our region, depicted in works of Kharkov artists, a part of which has been awarded a gold medal of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

One should pay attention to “Dialogue of Cultures” project, implemented by Kharkov city charitable Fund “AVEC” together with Association of national and cultural unions of Ukraine. Its objective is to acquaint citizens of Kharkov with spiritual values of different nations, representatives of which live in our country. The following exhibitions took place in “AVEC” gallery as part of the project: “Images of a disappeared world”, “Fundament of eternity”, “Ethnical variety of Ukraine”, “The Sublime in the insignificant. Masterpieces of art of Japan and China”, “ Moving from zloty to Euro”, “Immature art of Israel”, “Masters and Samurais”, exhibition of works of Nikas Safronov. With love for Ukraine”.

The important aspect in activity of “AVEC” gallery is cooperation with owners of private collections of fine arts and halidoms as well as of other art collections including foreign ones. As a result joint exhibitions such as “Fascinated” (I.Aivazovskiy and grandchild), “Voice of my soul” (I.Marchuk), “For people’s joy” (M.Primachenko) have been conducted. The gallery actively works, its originators have many new interesting ideas, they are looking for new names and new forms to present works of art to audience.
